ABOUT US

The Ontario Biosolids Council is a coalition of organizations - public, private, and municipal - that supply biosolids to farmers in Ontario. Biosolids are generated in municipal wastewater treatment plants and can be used as high-quality fertilizers and soil enhancers for many crops in Ontario. The decades-old practice of land application of biosolids is regulated by the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada.  The organizations in the Council represent about 80% of all biosolids that are applied to farmlands in the province.
